Remembering Jeremy Kaufman: A Beloved Member of the Cure Violence Family
June 8, 1970 – October 24, 2026
It is with profound sadness that Cure Violence Global mourns the unexpected passing of Jeremy Kaufman, our longtime Board Chair, steadfast supporter, and dear friend.
For more than 15 years, including more than eight years as Chair of our Board of Directors, Jeremy was an extraordinary part of Cure Violence Global. His leadership, generosity, and unwavering belief in our mission helped shape who we are today and made so much of our work possible.
Jeremy believed deeply that violence could be prevented and that communities everywhere deserved the opportunity to live in safety. He did more than believe in that vision. He committed himself to making it a reality.
Through some of the most challenging periods in our organization’s history, Jeremy was there. He provided steady leadership, generous support, valuable connections, and the encouragement we needed to keep moving forward. When challenges seemed overwhelming, he helped us find a way through. His commitment to Cure Violence never wavered.
But Jeremy’s contribution was about much more than the resources and leadership he provided. It was about the person he was.
Jeremy showed up. He brought energy, optimism, generosity, and a genuine warmth to every room. He was someone we could count on, someone who believed in us and our work, and someone whose presence made the difficult moments easier and the successes more meaningful.
Jeremy understood that our work was ultimately about people and about saving lives. Through his years of dedication, he helped make it possible for Cure Violence to reach communities, prevent violence, and save lives around the world. His impact lives on in that work and in the countless people whose lives have been touched by it.
It is difficult to imagine Cure Violence Global without Jeremy. He was not simply a board chair, a donor, or an advisor. He was a deeply loved member of the Cure Violence family. He became part of the fabric of this organization, and his contributions are inseparable from our story.
We will miss his leadership, his friendship, his positivity, and the knowledge that he was always there for us. We will carry forward the mission he believed in so deeply, grateful for everything he gave and for the privilege of having him as part of our lives.
Our hearts are with his wife Vered, his children Jonah, Coral, and Julian, and his entire family.
Jeremy will always be part of Cure Violence. His legacy lives on in the work he helped make possible, the lives he helped save, and the people who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
With love and gratitude,
The Cure Violence Global Family
